Voter info
Voting in Denver, made simple.
Election day is Tuesday, November 3. Colorado votes by mail, and here is everything you need so your ballot counts.
The dates that matter
Three dates. That’s the whole calendar.
-
Early October
Ballots go out
Every active registered Denver voter gets a ballot in the mail automatically. No request needed.
-
Monday, October 26
Last day to register by mail
Register by this date to still get your ballot mailed to you. It is also the last safe day to mail your ballot back. After this, use a drop box.
-
Tuesday, November 3
Election day. Received by 7 PM.
Ballots must be received, not postmarked, by 7:00 PM. Drop boxes are open until then, and you can still register and vote in person at any vote center.
Registration and ballot tracking are run by the State of Colorado and Denver Elections, not this campaign. Dates come from the Colorado election calendar; confirm specifics at the official sites above.
Questions neighbors actually ask
Quick answers
-
Do I need to request a ballot?
No. Colorado votes by mail: every active registered voter automatically receives a ballot, starting in early October. Check that your address is current at GoVoteColorado.gov so it reaches you.
-
What if I miss the registration deadline?
You can still vote. Colorado has same-day registration: go to any Denver vote center through 7:00 PM on election day, register on the spot, and vote in person.
-
Where do I return my ballot?
Mail it back (by October 26 to be safe), or use any 24/7 ballot drop box in Denver right up to 7:00 PM on November 3. Find your nearest box at DenverVotes.org. Postmarks do not count; it must be received by 7 PM.
-
How do I know my ballot counted?
Denver lets you follow your ballot like a package. Sign up for Ballot TRACE at DenverVotes.org and you will get a notification at every step, including when it is received and accepted.
-
What is the at-large seat I am voting for?
Denver’s at-large council members are elected by the whole city, not one district. Every Denver voter votes in this race, and Alfredo Reyes is on that ballot citywide.
